Acquisitions / Serials Technician
Jane handles the financial transactions required for purchasing the items approved by Rob, the Manager.  Her other main duty is the receiving, tracking, and processing of the library’s print periodicals.  If you are unsure about the information contained in a record for a journal in our Library Journals List (LjL), you may want to email Jane for assistance.  Along with Genevieve, she works at the front of the library and is a friendly face for students who may have had her as a school librarian.  Presently, Jane works mornings in the Library and afternoons in the Admissions office of the College, which has allowed her to bring a fresh new perspective to our services.

Audio-Visual Technician
As the A-V Technician, Jerry provides a myriad of equipment that range from laptops, computer projectors, voice recorders, and video recorders, not to mention older equipment used with archival materials, such as 16mm film, to the faculty, staff, and students of Yukon College.  He handles the circulation of the equipment to support classes and events at the College.  With the large and often baffling range of audio-visual tools available for classroom teaching, Jerry is available for one-on-one teaching of faculty, staff, and students on the proper use and handling of equipment.  In his role as the A-V Technician, he also handles the repair of items and his strong work ethic ensures a continued inventory of spare parts to repair items as soon as possible to minimize any disruption to Instructors’ plans for media use in their classes.  He can often be found in a classroom helping an Instructor troubleshoot a technical issue before the start of a class or setting up equipment for an event on campus.

Circulation Technician
Usually the first person students encounter when they enter the library, Genevieve’s friendly personality ideally suits her responsibility as the Circulation Technician.  Genevieve is the person most responsible for the checking in and out of library materials, arranging for the setting up of library accounts, and supervising the shelving of items by the student library assistants; although we all take turns doing our share.  She is also responsible for the maintenance of the collection so if you cannot find an item please let her know. She is also responsible for the processing, maintenance, and circulation of the Reserve collection.  Genevieve also remotely sets up library accounts for community campuses staff and students.  If you have any questions about your account concerning notices, fines, holds, or loss or damage of an item, Genevieve is the library staff member who will usually handle your query.

Information Literacy / Reference Librarian
Coming straight from the chaos of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Aline (Ali) is relatively new to Yukon and Yukon College. As a reference librarian, she can provide information and specific instructions on how to make the best use of library resources (books, journals, databases and other online materials). She likes helping students about their research needs, with orientations relating to search techniques and academic writing styles, like APA. Ali is also responsible for the Interlibrary Loan services, very useful when patrons need something not availalbe at Yukon College Library.

Manager - Library, Archives, and Records Management
As Manager of the Library, Rob manages the library staff and its facility.  He sets the standard of excellence in service to students that his employees are happy to follow.  He makes final purchase decisions for all items, such as books, periodicals, and audio-visual equipment.  He is available for consultation with the Senior Management at the College and represents the Library and the division of Student Services at plenty of committees and meetings.  As the College’s copyright, access to information and privacy contact, he also answers questions related to these issues.  In addition to managing the library, he is also responsible for the College’s archival collection and manages its records.

Systems / Cataloguing Librarian
Derek combines the traditional duties of a cataloguing librarian with troubleshooting library computer issues.  As a naturally outgoing, friendly guy he is happy to help when the library is busy—even though cataloguing requires him to work in the back office.  As part of his cataloguing duties, he decides where in the collection an item might be included.  If you are unsure of a call number for an item, he would be a good person to contact.  A side of his job few people see is the maintenance of the library servers.  If you are having technical issues with logging into the databases off campus or the catalogue looks a little wonky, he would be the person to contact.
