More About the Library
Yukon College Library’s main collection consists of more than 39,000 volumes, as well as DVDs, videos, CDs, and CD-ROMs. Subject emphases include environmental studies, First Nations studies, northern studies and women’s studies. The reference collection houses encyclopedias, atlases, dictionaries, and other reference works. Items from the reference collection cannot be borrowed.
The library also subscribes to about 350 periodicals in print, covering a variety of subject areas, not to mention many more online through the article databases. Individual issues may not be borrowed but can be photocopied following Access Copyright regulations.
The library has 8 networked computers. Each computer provides users with access to a large selection of electronic resources, including the Internet. Due to the extremely high demand of these computers, no emailing or chatting is allowed.
The library also has electronic access to a suite of licensed databases such as Academic Search Premier, PsycARTICLES, The Cochrane Library, and more. These databases can be accessed from any networked Yukon College computer. Please refer to the Find Resources section of the library’s website to learn more.
